Mod Brief:
Concord Stories is a story-driven expansion for Sim Settlements 2, the award-winning mod for Fallout 4. Designed to expand the Commonwealth with immersive new content, it introduces original quests, companions, NPCs, locations, shops, and radio broadcasts, all seamlessly integrated into the existing game world.
At its core, Concord Stories focuses on breathing new life into abandoned settlements through interconnected, character-driven narratives. Using a dynamic world repopulation system, each location and story can appear in different places and orders across playthroughs, creating a unique experience for every player while remaining faithful to the lore and atmosphere of the Fallout universe.
My Contribution:
Following a successful audition, I was cast as Eve Mercer, the only female companion in Concord Stories, an expansion for Sim Settlements 2 (Fallout 4).
Eve is a complex, LGBTQ+ character (Lesbian Woman) whose dialogue changes depending on the player’s gender, reflecting her sexuality and creating a more authentic player experience. Her story also explores the lasting effects of trauma caused by her abusive father, requiring a nuanced and emotionally layered performance to convey her vulnerability, resilience, and personal growth.
In addition to Eve, I voice several supporting characters, including Dr June and other in-game doctors.
This marks my second companion role within the Fallout universe, following my work on Fallout: London, further demonstrating my experience portraying complex, narrative-driven characters in large-scale RPGs.
Who is Eve Mercer?
Eve Mercer is the only child of one of Goodneighbor’s most influential figures, destined to inherit her father’s power and legacy. Constantly shadowed by his loyal Triggermen, she lives under relentless supervision, making true independence feel impossible.
To the outside world, Eve appears dramatic, entitled, and accustomed to the privileges of her upbringing. Her theatrical charm, quick wit, and seemingly spoiled attitude serve as a carefully constructed defence, concealing the vulnerability and frustration beneath.
Behind the façade is a young woman desperate to escape the life that has been chosen for her. Shaped by an overbearing, abusive father and years of emotional control, Eve longs for the freedom to define herself beyond her family’s influence. When faced with danger, her bravado gives way to resilience, resourcefulness, and genuine courage, revealing a far more grounded and capable person than first impressions suggest.
Eve’s journey is one of self-discovery, as she confronts the emotional weight of her upbringing and searches for the confidence to forge her own path. Balancing humour, vulnerability, defiance, and emotional trauma, the role demanded a nuanced performance that evolved alongside her transformation from sheltered daughter to independent survivor.
