Ken and Chris arrive at a dinner party to find their host, Charley, a prominent government official, dazed and unable to speak after an apparent suicide attempt that has left him with a bullet wound to his earlobe. As the other guests, Len and Claire, who have just been in a car accident, along with Ernest and Cookie, and Glenn and Cassie, each carrying their own personal dramas, begin to arrive, the group scrambles to keep the shocking events a secret. But with the police asking questions and their web of lies growing ever more complicated, can they keep the truth hidden?
