“My husband is more important to me than money. 200 is a small price to pay.”- Mariella

Fallout: The Odyssey is an epic, fan-made total conversion mod for Fallout: New Vegas that takes you far from the Mojave and into the frozen, war-torn wilds of post-nuclear Alaska. Set in 2297, the mod plunges players into a brutal conflict between the Brotherhood of Steel and a rising Enclave, both fighting for dominance over what’s left of America’s last great frontier. As a lone wanderer with no allegiance, your choices will shape the outcome of this cold new war—forge uneasy alliances, uncover buried secrets, and decide the fate of a fractured world.
With original quests, factions, weapons, and over 50 new armor sets, The Odyssey offers a bold reimagining of the Fallout experience—bigger, colder, and deadlier than ever.

Following the success of Fallout: London, I was thrilled when I expressed an interest in contributing to Fallout: The Odyssey and was quickly brought on board. Under the guidance of Alexander Pabon, the Lead Writer, I was entrusted with voicing the complex character of Mariella Wilcox — a young woman who has been forced to grow up fast too quickly in the harsh, wintry wastelands of Anchorage.
Alexander invited me to review the script and share my thoughts on Marriella’s dialogue. After further discussions about Mariella’s character, he kindly encouraged me to contribute my own writing to truly bring her to life. It has been a rewarding collaborative effort, and I’m excited to help make Mariella’s story shine.
In addition to aiding others in the VA dep, I have been asked to lend my voice to Camellia, a sweet and caring plant seller from Vault 2! A stark contrast to Mariella.

As this project has progressed, I have been helping to aid in streamlining its production as well as providing solutions and problem-solving strategies for when the project leads hit a roadblock. The dedication and passion the developers have in bringing this project to life is second to none. I’m just happy to help provide support where I can when I’m not talking into the mic for them.

Who is Mariella Wilcox?

Mariella Wilcox is a woman shaped by sorrow, strength, and staggering emotional depth. Having lost both of her parents at a young age to a brutal dearth that swept through her home of Fire Village, her world was first forged in grief. The tragedy left a scar that never fully healed, only deepened when she later lost her beloved Teddy, the last vestiges of her once happy home —a final blow that nearly unraveled her. Yet Mariella endures.
Deeply emotionally intelligent, Mariella possesses a profound ability to read others, making it difficult for her to be deceived; she can intuit emotions and connect with those in pain. Her heart, though massive, carries the weight of horrors only survivors know. Her past—steeped in trauma and the harsh realities of the Waterlands—has carved her into a woman of quiet resilience and complex emotional layers.
Mariella is both weary and wise. Years of suffering have aged her soul, but not dulled her spark. She is capable, resourceful, and fiercely protective of those she loves. Yet, her trauma has left deep psychological echoes: when severely triggered, Mariella experiences moments of age regression—slipping into a childlike state as a coping mechanism born from the earliest years of loss. This vulnerability doesn’t diminish her strength; rather, it reveals the rawness of a heart that has seen too much and still dares to feel.
She is a paradox—soft but unyielding, broken but unbreakable. Mariella Wilcox is not just a survivor of the Waterland’s cruelties—she is a living testament to the power of emotional resilience and the enduring cost of love.

Who is Camellia?

Camellia is sunlight in human form—warm, bright, and seemingly born to thrive. You’ll find her in the heart of Fire Village’s bustling market, surrounded by her potted plant, glowing mushrooms, and flowering vines in dazzling colours. She smiles easily, speaks kindly, and always seems to have a bit of dirt under her nails—a badge of pride for someone who’s spent her life growing beauty in a world often stripped of it.
But don’t let her charm fool you. Camellia is a Vault dweller from Vault 2, an underground facility dedicated to the cultivation and experimentation of plant life. Camellia is a botanist, a soil chemist, and, in her own quiet way, a survivor of the kind of science no one ever talks about out loud.
Since coming to the surface, she’s built a life rooted in community, offering her knowledge, plants, and fertilizers to anyone with the coin—or the kindness—to approach her stall. She’s beloved by many in Fire Village, and feared—albeit politely—by those foolish enough to try to take advantage of her.
Because beneath her easygoing smile is a steel backbone. Sweet she may be, but soft? Never. You can’t bulldoze your way over this girl—you’ll find yourself buried in roots before you even realize you’re sinking.
She’s a rare combination: emotionally generous but firmly guarded, endlessly curious but quietly strategic. Her plants may grow from the soil, but Camellia herself is grounded in something deeper—an unshakable sense of self, and a sharp mind that sees more than she lets on.
Best to keep her on your good side.
